Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. In what schools is Engaged Leaders facilitating programs?

A. All THRIVE Club meetings are after-school from 3:05pm-5:00pm

  • Monday: Nathan Hale Middle School
  • Tuesday: Central High School
  • Wednesday: Benson High School
  • Thursday: Northwest High School
  • Friday: Omaha South High School

Q. What type of students do you serve?

A. Engaged Leaders programs are intended to serve immigrant and refugee youth. Our ideal student is newly arrived and looking for a space in school to feel like they belong and to surround themselves with a positive peer group including other students interested in becoming leaders in their community.

Q. How does a student sign up for Engaged Leaders programming?

A. Our after-school program (THRIVE Club) is open to any student currently attending one of our partner schools. Students can come to any of our meetings throughout the year (August-April). Those who want to become consistent members will need their parents and/or guardians to complete consent and permission forms.

Only students who attend THRIVE Club consistently may apply to be mentors in the THRIVE+ Mentoring program, and mentees are recommended by their teachers, as there are limited spots.
